I got this crap (by someone else...) installed on my system, so I thought I'd give instructions on how to remove isearch spyware from your computer - so to help anyone else with this problem

Isearch is also named as "BlazeFind.SearchEnhancer.ISTbar" by Spybot S&D and "istbar" by Adware, or "SmartSearch". I believe this is installed by a security flaw in Java or (some people have reported) by a download prompted by Windows Media Player.

A] Backup your registry - just to be safe

B] First run the program HijackThis! http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Then delete the listed entries (if visible);

R3 - URLSearchHook: iSearch Toolbar - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll

O3 - Toolbar: iSearch Toolbar - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll

O8 - Extra context menu item: &iSearch The Web - res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll/SEARCH.HTML

O16 - DPF: {1C78AB3F-A857-482E-80C0-3A1E5238A565} (iSearch Toolbar) - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\ss.MHT!http://toolbar.isearch.com/install/00002/chm.chm::/files/initial.cab

Also delete all host hijacks (they're the entries listed in the format O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.........)

eg.

O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.9 doxdesk.com

C] Also delete the file toolbar.dll - should be located in C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll or C:\WINDOWS\System\toolbar.dll

D] Run CWShredder to get rid of any remains;

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

E] [Only do this if your confident in editing the windows registry - it's not essential for removal of Isearch just a cleaner removal) Opening Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> regedit)

Delete the key and subs keys of;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\isearch

or/and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\isearch

I just got isearch off my system by simply doing a windows restore, I restored my computer to an earlier date, though I did use spybot S&D, and deleted some windows downloaded internet programs, though I still had isearch. Try a simple windows restore to an earlier date before you installed isearch. Hopefully this works, I didn't expect it to work, though it did.
